Marion officials look at possibility of outsourcing
operation of departments

   The Marion County Commission is looking into the possibility of hiring an outside company to operate the county's Water Department and Road Department. While commissioners have not committed to doing so, they are taking a serious look at it and will be hearing proposals from several companies.
   They heard a proposal from Clear Water Solutions of Opelika, Alabama during their meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12. They are scheduled to hear a "pitch" from another company – Liberty Utilities – during their meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m.
