   The Marion County High School varsity softball team continued to soar last week by scoring wins over two quality region opponents. The Eagles are now 18-2 overall and 11-2 in Region 4A. They have won more games so far this season than any other Class A team and they are currently No. 9 in the GHSA State Power Ratings.
   "We lost two games back-to-back about a month ago, both by scores of 3-4, and we've been working hard and getting better all season," said Head Coach David Wells. "We compete is a very solid region, which has four to five very good teams, so we can't take ... The rest of the story.

   The Schley County High varsity softball team won two more games last week (16-0 over Manchester and 5-4 over Macon County) to improve to 16-5 overall. They are also a perfect 13-0 inside the tough Region 4A, giving them the inside track to the region title.
   The Lady Cats have three region games remaining. If they win two of them, they will clinch the region championship.
   "If we do that, I feel strongly that we will be in the top five going in to the state playoffs," said Head Coach Jody Sellars.
   Most impressive is the fact that the team is very young (only one senior and three juniors, including starter Saylor Ann Cross, who has been sidelined for the whole season with an injury).
   "We struggled with doing the little things right at the beginning of the season, but have done nothing but progress throughout," noted Coach Sellars. "My team has come together well and is much better than we were at game one of the season.  If we take care of our business, we will get ... The rest of the story
