   Teams from six schools (including 5 ranked in the Class A Top 10) competed in four divisions last Saturday in the first Marion County Middle/High School Cross Country Invitational. Marion County hosted Schley County, Hawkinsville, Crisp County, Pulaski, and Aaron Cohn in boys and girls races for varsity (3.07 miles) and middle school (2 miles). The first place teams received trophies and the top three runners in each event earned medals.
   "It was a great day," said MCMHS Head Coach Michelle Harris. "It was inspiring to see the effort and determination put in by so many runners facing our tough course and some pretty brutal temperatures. We want to thank our visitors for participating and we want to thank all of the volunteers who helped prepare for and host the Invitational."
Boys Varsity
   The boys varsity race featured three teams that are currently ranked in the Top 10 in the state for Class A public schools (Hawkinsville, No. 7; Schley County, No. 8; and Marion County, which debuted in the rankings at No. 10 after a decent showing against teams in higher classifications at the huge Muscogee County School District Invitational the previous week).
