Local Voters are Setting Records

   All five counties in The Journal's coverage area are experiencing significantly higher than normal amounts of voters for the November 3 General Election. The race between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden for the White House is a factor, but some area counties also have local races on the ballot that are further fueling the increase.
   In Marion County, which has 5,145 registered voters, 1,972 people had already cast ballots as of Monday morning. That's a 38% turnout eight days before Election Day. Election Supervisor Sandra Brown said 1,311 have already early voted in-person, while 661 have already returned absentee ballots.
