The Marion County High School varsity softball team advanced all the way to the Sweet 16 round of the 2020 Class A State Playoffs before falling to a very strong Academy for Classical Education team last Friday.
The Lady Eagles were the Region 5A runner-up, posted a record of 21-14, and beat Lincoln County in the first round of the playoffs. That's a good season for any team, but consider the facts that the Lady Eagles only had three starters back from last year's squad and they have no seniors on the team, and it was a spectacular season.
