   Not too many years ago the late Eddie Owens Martins' elaborate "folk art" creation of Pasaquan near Buena Vista was listed on the Georgia Trust for Preservation's "Places in Peril" list, which seeks to identify historic sites in danger of being lost.
   This past Saturday, October 22, an estimated 2,200 visitors from 34 states and 14 countries flocked to the site, which held its Grand Re-Opening after more than two years of intensive restoration financed by the Kohler Foundation, which recently gifted the site to Columbus State University (CSU).
   Mike McFalls of CSU, now Director of Pasaquan, praised the local Pasaquan Preservation Society (PPS) for fighting to keep the site alive for three decades after Martin's death in 1986. He said it would have otherwise "dissolved into the mist".
