scores 50-10 win in State Playoffs

   Schley County High School's historic season took another big step last Saturday, Nov. 13 when the Wildcats grounded the Gryphons of the Academy for Classical Education (ACE) in the first round of the State Playoffs. The Wildcats took the lead early, led 22-3 after the first quarter, and 50-10 at halftime, which was the final score, as the Cats stepped off the accelerator a bit and the officials kept the clock running the rest of the game.
   "Our kids came in excited and ready to play and gave a really good effort," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "We executed well and pretty much did everything we tried to do. They hit us with a couple of trick plays, but other than that they didn't have any success against us."
   The No. 5 ranked Wildcats (10-1) will now travel east to face No. 4 ranked Metter High (11-0) for the "Sweet 16" round of the playoffs. It will be a big test on the road, but the Wildcats feel they are ready for it.
