Schley High prepares for playoffs as
historic football season continues

   Schley County High wrapped up the best regular season in school history last Friday by trouncing Central of Talbotton 62-0 on the road to improve to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in Region 5A. The Wildcats, who are the region runner-up, will now move into the State Playoffs ranked No. 5.
   They will host the Academy for Classical Education (ACE Charter) Gryphons out of Macon this Saturday, Nov. 13. The Georgia High School Association moved Class A's first round to Saturday to deal with a potential shortage of quality officials to work the games. At the deadline for this newspaper, kickoff was tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
   ACE is 4-4 and represents Region 7A as its No. 3 seed. After losing the first two games of the season, the Gryphons won 4 of their next 6. Last Friday they beat Twiggs County 47-20.
