The Georgia Department of Education recently released the latest College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores. Three high schools in The Journal's coverage area beat the state average. Those three schools – Stewart, Schley, Chattahoochee Counties – were also the top three in the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA district, which comprises 14 counties.
According to the Department of Education, CCRPI is a comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform for all educational stakeholders that will promote college and career readiness for all Georgia public school students.
Each school receives a score from 0 to 100. The scores are based on a variety of factors:

   * Progress (individual student's growth compared to similar students across the state).

   * Closing Gaps (students who are economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, and English learners).
   * Readiness (How many students are offered career pathways, advanced placement, international baccalaureate, and dual enrollment, as well as opportunities offered beyond core subjects, such as literacy programs, fine arts, foreign languages, and physical education).
   * Graduation Rates (number of students who graduate with a regular diploma).
The state average CCRPI score was 77.0.
