Elementary School CCRPI Scores

From the Nov. 27, 2019 issue of The Journal
By Richard Harris
The Georgia Department of Education recently released the latest College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores.
Two elementary schools (Schley and Chattahoochee) in The Journal's coverage area were at the top of the 14-county Chattahoochee-Flint RESA district. Marion County was also near the top at No. 4.
According to the Department of Education, CCRPI is a comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform for all educational stakeholders that will promote college and career readiness for all Georgia public school students.
Each school receives a score from 0 to 100. The scores are based on a variety of factors:
   * Content Mastery (English/Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies).
   * Progress (individual student's growth compared to similar students across the state).
   * Closing Gaps (students who are economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, and English learners).
   * Readiness (How many students are offered career pathways, advanced placement, international baccalaureate, and dual enrollment, as well as opportunities offered beyond core subjects, such as literacy programs, fine arts, foreign languages, and physical education).
The state average CCRPI score for elementary schools was 77.1.
Schley County Elementary School's score was 85.9, which was the highest score in the Chatt-Flint RESA. It was also the only score in the RESA that was above the state average. Schley's scores by category were Content Mastery (86.7) ... The rest of the story.
