EPD sends Buena Vista
Letter of Noncompliance

   The City of Buena Vista recently received a "Letter of Noncompliance" from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), which noted 11 deficiencies at the wastewater treatment facility.
   However, city officials noted that Chris Jones, who is paid by the city to operate the facility, has already been making changes/improvements in order to get everything taken care of. It was said that he had already made some corrections (even before the inspection that led to the letter) and had already planned to make more.
   Mayor Ralph Brown said it is important that all deficiencies be taken care of as soon as possible, as the EPD has given the city 30 days (from Oct. 19) to provide a written reply stating what actions have been taken.
