Marion officials set mixed drink license fee;
hear requests to ease up on local regulations

   The Marion County Commission set the fee for mixed drinks licenses at $1,500 per year during its recent monthly meeting. Officials also heard from a longtime local nightclub owner and a potential new club manager who want the commissioners to ease up on some of the previously passed local regulations for mixed drinks.
   This past May voters approved a special referendum to allow mixed drinks to be sold in the county (it passed 56.2% to 43.58%). In August the Commission passed regulations for mixed drinks, which include that the license holders are required ... The rest of the story.
