    The Schley County High Lady Wildcats won the Region 5A Track & Field Championship on April 28 at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. Schley finished with 156 total points to claim the title ahead of runner-up Manchester (99), and Marion County (91). Other teams competing were Chattahoochee County, Taylor County, Greenville, Macon County, Furlow-Charter, Stewart County, and Talbotton.
   "I'm very proud of our girls team, as they were able to win region for the third time in the last five years," said Coach Scott Burgess. "We did not have a very large team, which meant that many of our athletes stepped up and competed in multiple events and some girls even did the maximum number of four. … I would like to thank the following coaches for their help this season: Beth Kinney, Ashley Denby, Clifton Aldridge, and David Earle."
