Perry Bros. to buy Coleman Grocery

   After 57 years of serving the Cusseta-Chattahoochee County community, Coleman Grocery is nearing the end of its era. Perry Brothers Oil Company is purchasing the business, along with Coleman Hardware, owned by the husband-and-wife team of Wade and Jacqueline Coleman.
   Mr. and Mrs. Coleman's daughter, Vanna Lynch, who has managed the grocery store since her mother retired for health reasons, said it's bitter-sweet for the family, but it's "just the right time" to make the move.
   "My parents both have health issues that keep them from being involved in running the businesses that they own," said Lynch. "I have been working in the store for 43 years, since I was 12-years-old. Frankly, I am

tired. My parents are really tired."
   She noted that some people have expressed dismay that they didn't sell to another grocer, but she says they weren't able to find a buyer who was interested in a traditional grocery store, nor a hardware store. However, Perry Brothers' plans aren't a total departure from the grocery business.
