Huge crowd turns out to watch Schley Class of 2017 start down own path

   Even the grandstand seating at John Gill Athletic Field did not hold all of the family and friends of the 2017 graduating class of Schley County High School. Seventy-one students were presented their diplomas by Principal Todd West. Then they proceeded to file out and form a circle on the field before tossing their caps into the air in the time-honored end to the graduating ceremony.
   Opening remarks were given by Korben Ethridge, who first asked for a moment of silence. He thanked his family, his teachers and God, and said that the students were guided to this day.
   A welcome was made by Raylee Lamb. She said that she was proud to be part of such an accomplished class and that Schley County High School had left its mark on the graduates.
   Superintendent Adam Hathaway repeated his motto: "Excellence in all we do" and said that this class ... The rest of the story.
