1 'ATM Bandit' arrested,
another suspect still on the run

   One man is behind bars and another suspect remains on the run in the recent case of ATM thefts from area businesses.
   As reported in last week's newspaper, stores in Ellaville (Fillers) and Buena Vista (J&R Quickstop) were hit in very similar burglaries in which someone backed stolen trucks into the stores and then stole the ATMs (automated teller machines).
   The trend continued last week, as the

"Why Not" Chevron in Cusseta was hit in the early morning hours in what is believed to have been a similar burglary attempt. The criminals did not succeed in stealing the ATM at that location, but caused considerable damage to the building, which in addition to having glass doors had a large, nice section of glass around the doors.
   The Chattahoochee County Sheriff's Office issued a "look out" call for the truck that was used in that attempted crime and later that morning suspects were spotted in nearby Marion County.
