Pea Ridge Arts Fest
is being planned in Buena Vista

From the March 1, 2017 issue of The Journal
The Marion County Chamber of Commerce announces plans for a first-class arts festival in the near future. Plans are in the works for the first Pea Ridge Arts Fest on Saturday, April 29 on "The Square" in downtown Buena Vista from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to showcasing local artists, festival organizers are seeking out guest artists from near and far. Plans are for the festival to offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy the works of some of the most talented artists from across the South – and perhaps beyond.
There will be a "Juried Artists Market" that will include exhibitors whose art mediums will include paintings, drawings, photography, pottery/ceramics, sculpture, glass, textiles, mixed media, jewelry, leather goods, metal works, woodworking, blacksmithing, and the performing arts.
The festival will also include Buena Vista's most famous artist, the late Eddie Owens Martin, also known as "St. EOM". Shuttles will be provided to take visitors from downtown Buena Vista to Martin's famous folk art creation of "Pasaquan", which is located a few miles outside of town and is known across the globe as one of the most interesting and unique "visionary art sites" in the world.
There will also be live entertainment on the Courthouse Square in Buena Vista, live presentations of performing arts at Fox Hall, and children's interactive art activities.
The festival is free to visitors. Prospective participating artists must register in advance and pay a $50 refundable fee (which will be refunded at the close of the day to all artists who participate). The deadline to register is March 17.
