Wildcats look for another stellar season
as they defend their State Championship

   The Schley County High School baseball team is expected to have another stellar season in 2016 as the Wildcats defend their State Championship. While repeating as champs is always difficult, the Wildcats have to be seen as the "team to beat" since they have almost the exact same team this year.
   All but one of the Championship Cats are back on the diamond in Ellaville, as Knox Theus was the lone senior on last year's squad. He was the starting catcher and a team leader, so it's a significant loss, but having eight starters back from a team that went 24-5 and won the title puts Schley ahead of the game. Six of the returning starters – Brett Usry, Blake Howell, Michael Leeder, Chase Patrick, Clint Sellars, Josh Hutchens – are also returning members of the All Region 4A First Team.
