earns Player of the Year honor

   Young Marion County resident Kaden McNeal recently racked up some impressive victories and awards as a golfer – including Player of the Year for the Columbus Valley Middle School (CVMS) Golf League.
   He finished the spring season (March 19 – April 29) 27 strokes ahead of the second place player. McNeal averaged 5.5 strokes per round over par (with the next closest player averaging 10 strokes over per round). There were 42 players from six teams competing in the 11 to 15-years-old B-Division.
   McNeal is 11-years-old and a 6th grade student at Marion County Middle-High School. One of his hobbies is playing golf and the other is fishing. He likes golf so much that he has a hole set up at home on his great grandfather's (Gene Brown) grass runway, where he can be found every playing for hours on end almost everyday, weather permitting.
   For the past two years, McNeal has been playing in the CVMS golf program in Columbus at Godwin Creek Golf Course. He plays for the independent team since the Marion County School System doesn't have a golf program. The independent ...
