From the June 15, 2016 issue of The Journal
Marion County and area residents are asked to be on the lookout for a local resident's missing service dog.
Sheba, a female German Shepherd, serves as the "ears" of Amanda Stubbs, a local resident who is 100 percent deaf. Sheba plays a crucial role in her life and is even more a part of her family than most people's dogs. She has been missing since last Wednesday, June 8.
It is believed that someone may have stolen Sheba, because she had to have been let out of the fenced-in yard and other dogs were still inside.
Sheba is 5-years-old and is microchipped and spayed. She is a trained service dog. She responds to sign language and gentle voice. She was last seen in her fenced yard on Azalea Lane near Marion County's Fort Perry Area.
If found (or if anyone has any tips), please call Joe Stubbs at 229-314-1254 or Cristen Jacobs at 229-314-2588.
