The Performance Academy in Buena Vista held its final summer camp performance at Fox Hall on Saturday, July 20. The highlight of the performance was the Youth 1 and 2 vocalists with a Disney themed selection.
They were also joined by not only the coaches (Jordan Moses, Anastasia Daniels, Melonie Rigsby, John Pollock, Molly Pollock, Joe Pollock, and Sunni McAllister), but performers from the previous camps as well.
Now that the summer camps are over, the Performance Academy is registering students for the fall semester. The registration deadline is Friday, July 26, so act quickly if you have a youngster or teenager who is interested. The academy is open to all residents of the region (not just Marion County).
The academy will be offering fall classes with group lessons in keyboard and percussion, and private lessons in vocal, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, and guitar. Both will meet once a week at $25 a lesson.
The academy will also have a Christmas Show that vocalists, dancers, and production crew members can audition to be a part of. Practices for the show will be twice a week at $25 a lesson.
Many local businesses, organizations, and individuals have offered scholarships for those who qualify. There are multiple vocalist and dancer scholarships, and many full tuition scholarships for instrumentalists.
