Marion Hires New Manager

Justin Strickland

   The Marion County Commission recently voted to hire Justin Strickland as the new county manager. The 31-year-old is currently the Acting Civic Center Director for the City of Savannah and has a variety of governmental administration experience.
   Strickland was hired on a split 3-2 vote, with Chairman George Neal, Steve Young, and Norman Royal voting "yes" and Matt Gunnels and Jody Grimsley voting "no".
   Most of Strickland's work experience is in larger governments, but he is a small-town boy at heart and is excited about the opportunity to be the Marion County Manager.
