BV Council under scrutiny

   The Buena Vista City Council is facing scrutiny from the Georgia Attorney General's Office for violations of "Sunshine Laws", but the city attorney is confident they can avoid serious penalties by cooperating with the state and showing a good faith effort to do better in the future.
   That was one of the issues discussed in the July 3 Council meeting. Officials also made plans to interview seven candidates for the open police chief position, rejected a request by Family Connection to use the Josh Gibson Center at no charge for an upcoming Mother-Son Dance, and discussed various other items, including leaks in water lines and the roof of the JG Center.
