Schley Co. Tax Commissioner
steps up collection efforts

From the July 25, 2018 issue of The Journal
Schley County Tax Commissioner Pam Register is stepping up efforts to collect almost $100,000 in 2017 delinquent taxes. The names of taxpayers who have outstanding bills from 2017 are listed on Page 5 of this issue (July 25th) of the newspaper.
Register is reminding these property owners that they are subject to tax sales (unless they have established a payment plan). There will also be an additional cost for payment plans.
The total amount of 2017 taxes still due is $95,967.82 (County $36,799.79; School $48,802.72, Bond $6,969.69, City $3,415.62).
"Thank you to the 97 percent of Schley County taxpayers who have paid their 2017 property taxes," said Register.
(There is an error on the actual newspaper page for this story, which mistakenly uses the figure $1 million instead of $100,000.)
