Interim Chief says recent drug arrest is part of a larger local problem

   Buena Vista Interim Police Chief Wendell Faulk says the recent arrest of a young local resident is just the latest example of how prevalent illegal drugs – especially marijuana – are in the community. He said the issue is "tearing the community apart" and everyone needs to come together and encourage youngsters to stay away from drugs.
   In the recent arrest, Chief Faulk was checking on a piece of property for a landlord who had reported some issues. He noticed a couple of young men near the property apparently asleep inside a vehicle. He tapped on the window and when the driver lowered the glass, the distinctive odor of marijuana floated out.
   The driver consented to a search of the vehicle and while nothing illegal was found on him, his passenger, 23-year-old ... The rest of the story.
