Professional musician Keith Austin, who has been living in Norway for a dozen years, returned to his roots last Saturday to perform a sold-out concert in Buena Vista's Fox Hall.
While he hails from nearby Plains, the longtime member of Dr. Hook (originally Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show), actually kicked off his public performing as a youngster only a few hundred feet from Fox Hall on the front steps of the Marion County Courthouse.
"The first time I ever played for a crowd was in Buena Vista when I was about 6-years-old," he said. "I remember playing on the Courthouse Square. That's where it all started for me."
It hasn't stopped since and has taken him around the world ... The rest of the story.
