   In March of 1939, almost 83 years ago, the man who was the brains of a robbery trio was arrested in Schley County.  Ray Bruce, age 29, and his brother Floyd, age 37, along with Ernest Morris, robbed and killed a post office messenger. On two occasions they robbed employees of Rich's Department Store in Atlanta who were carrying money to the bank. Other robberies by the Bruce brothers dated back to 1936 and 1937.
   On January 5, 1938, Arthur Mimms, an African-American, was a mail messenger and was carrying mail to the railroad station in Guthrie, Kentucky.  He carried a mail pouch containing $25,000 dollars
