Marion officials asked to review property values and to pave
way for liquor store in the county

   The Marion County Commission elected a new chairman for the first time in 14 years, and discussed many items – including the possibilities of revaluation of property values and allowing liquor sales – during its January 11 meeting.
   Commissioner Matt Gunnels was elected as the new chairman of the County Commission. The position is voted upon annually. Longtime chairman George Neal was elected as the vice-chairman for 2022. He had served as the chairman for the past 14 years in a row.
