Marion County officials approve
$1.2 million contract for Airport

   The ongoing Marion County Airport Improvement Project recently cleared its final hurdle and is ready for takeoff.
   The County Commission approved a contract with Robinson Paving for $1.2 million for the construction work of "Phase II", which will include an apron and a fuel farm.
   Commissioner Jody Grimsley voted against the contract, while Matt Gunnels abstained, but Chairman George Neal and Commissioners Norman Royal and Steve Young all voted "yes". Grimsley and Gunnels had both previously voted against the project before the contract was proposed.
