State Election Board sends Webster County complaint to State AG

   The State Election Board, in a split vote, decided to forward a Webster County election complaint to the State Attorney General's Office for possible prosecution during a hearing on February 17.
   The case involved a mistake in handling an absentee ballot situation that turned out to be very critical. The single vote not being counted resulted in a tie a June 18, 2019 Special Election (not 2020 as appeared in the printed version) to fill the vacant position of Webster County Clerk of Superior Court. The tie, along with the complaint, led to the entire election being tossed out and redone in November.
