Schley officials review new
equipment, ask attorney about problems with trash pick-up, more

   The Schley County Commission got a demonstration of a new live-saving piece of equipment, reviewed the recent audit, adopted a Timber Harvest Ordinance, asked the county attorney to look into possible responses to problems with trash pick-up, and discussed several other items during its recent monthly meeting.
   EMS Director Duane Montgomery demonstrated the newly acquired Lucas Chest Compression Device, which will help save the lives of citizens who need CPR while being taken to the hospital. The device was purchased with funds raised through Schley Community Foundation and grants from Flint Energies Foundation and Sumter EMC Foundation.
