The Buena Vista City Council voted to spend around $15,000 to alleviate a desperate situation and bring the Police Department into the digital era, began discussing the need to improve animal control, noted a need to try and find a way to cut down on the projected $4.67 million cost for improvements to the wastewater treatment system, fielded a request from the Fire Department, and discussed other items during its monthly meeting on February 4.

Police Chief Wendell Faulk and Assistant Chief Sharon Williams spoke to Council members about several needs of their department. The top priority is getting new radios – digital instead of analog.
