Marion Commission hears another
proposal for outsourcing services

   The Marion County Commission continues to look into the possibility of outsourcing the operation of major parts of the local government. During their meeting last week, commissioners listened to a proposal from CH2M, which recently merged with Jacobs, which made its pitch to operate the county's Water Department and Road Department.
   This is the third company to present a proposal to the County Commission. The others, as previously reported, were Clear Water Solutions and Liberty Utilities. Clear Water's proposal includes operation of both the Water and Road Departments, while Liberty basically proposed to purchase and operate the Water System.
