Marion Co. High Lady Eagles
win Region 4A Championship

   The Marion County High School Lady Eagles knocked down three wins in a row (including two over Top 10 ranked teams) in the Region 4A Tournament last week to claim the Region Championship. They will now head into the State Championship Tournament with a record of 22-5 and considerable momentum.
   "It was a great three days for us," said Coach Fran McPherson. "It was a valuable learning experience on how to play tournaments. We are proud to be bringing home a Region Championship to Marion County. Our region is tough, no doubt. Six teams are ranked in the top 24 and moving on to the State Tournament. To win this region is big for our girls program. … Our girls played well each and every night of the tournament to get to the finals. They wanted it and they were focused from the very first game to go get it done."
