Harvest Day in Schley County

   On a beautiful day in December my wife, Alice, and I held our 11th annual Harvest Day.
   The day started with a group of men and a few youngsters eating sausage and pancakes for breakfast. We shared a few memories, and some truths might have been stretched a little bit.
   Everyone then moved up to the sugarcane mill where about 1,000 stalks were squeezed to produce 75 gallons of juice. The cane mill was manufactured by Golden Foundries of Columbus over 100 years ago and ...
