5-game winning streak

   The Marion County High varsity softball team heated up and won five games in a row over the last week. The Lady Eagles had opened the season by going 0-4 against some tough competition in the Northside Tournament in Columbus, but not only have they not lost since then, they've also outscored their opponents by a combined score of 67-2.
   "As a team, we are improving each day and always trying to change for the best," said Head Coach John Dimitri.
   Marion 16, Jordan 0: The Lady Eagles

starting the win streak by beating Jordan High 16-0 in only 2 innings on Aug. 11. Marion jumped on Jordan early, scoring 12 runs in the first inning.
   While the bats were smoking hot (15 hits), pitcher J.K. Shivers tossed a 3-hit shutout. She struck out 1 batter and walked none.
