Marion announces phased-in
plan to return students to classrooms

   The Marion County School System has charted a course toward returning to in-person instruction. The plan is for a phased-in reopening and its success depends largely on the success of the community in keeping the numbers of COVID-19 cases down.
   Beginning Monday, August 31, pre-kindergarten students will return to classrooms for in-person instruction. On Wednesday, September 9, they will be joined by kindergarten through second grade students. Additional grade levels will then return based on improving conditions (assuming they continue to improve).
   As grade levels return for in-person learning, food delivery to those grade levels will be stopped.
