   At the deadline for this newspaper, the Georgia High School Association had cancelled preseason football scrimmages, but remained hopeful of starting games on September 4. While concerns about the Coronavirus Pandemic may yet wind up sacking the season, there's at least one local player who has already gotten plenty of attention from those who look for players for the "next level."
   Schley County High School senior Zamon Ross (6'1", 200) is included in the latest Watch List for the Sports Illustrated All-American Team for 2020.
   A total of 84 high school football players from the state of Georgia are on the watch list. Nationwide, 1,000 players are on the list.
