   The Chattahoochee County High School Panthers got a rude welcome back to Class A in their season opener last Friday, as the visiting Marion County High Eagles used a quick start to build a commanding 28-0 first quarter lead and then held on for a 35-14 victory.
   "They got out fast and while we made some mistakes I think it was mostly the case of them being an established program with a lot of success," said ChattCo Head Coach Drew Fowler. "They are well coached and have a lot of good players. We're building toward that. … We settled in and started slowing them down and moving the ball some on them, but it was too little, too late."
   It was the second game in a row that the Eagles soared to a huge early lead and then slowed down. While MCHS Head Coach Chris Kirksey said he'll take a 35-14 victory any day, he thinks the team needs to work on maintaining its intensity.
   "I think we left three or four touchdowns on the field," he said. "We need to work on staying focused and not relaxing."
