Marion officials take emergency
action on dirt roads

   The Marion County Commission called an emergency meeting last Wednesday, April 20 to address the condition of many dirt roads and try to come up with a faster way to make repairs. As reported in recent issues, the storm that rolled thru the area earlier this month caused considerable damage to many of the roads, rendering some of them unsafe and even unpassable.
   It is taken longer than desired to get them back in decent shape, so officials decided to have a special called meeting on the issue. They learned that in addition to the basic challenge of repairing the damage done to the roads, they also face challenges with equipment and manpower.
