   Downtown Buena Vista is the place to be this Saturday, April 28, as the Marion County Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2nd Annual Pea Ridge Arts Fest.
   The festival will bring a wide variety of artists and craftspeople to the Courthouse Square, as well as a 5K Walk/Run, lots of activities for kids, and live entertainment.
   New features for this year's event will include a wine tasting of local wines from Five Points Berries.
   Buena Vista's world famous folk art site – Pasaquan – will also be open and will offer tours. Pasaquan is located a few miles outside of town, but shuttles will run from the Courthouse to the site for tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
   The schedule for events is below.
   * 8 am – Registration begins for the Pea Ridge 5K Walk/Run. The fee is only $25 and includes a free T-shirt.
   * 9 am – 5K Walk/Run begins
   * 10:30 am – Opening Ceremony on the front porch of the Courthouse.
   * 11 am – Possum Come A'Knockin! (Story and visit from the Possum in the Children's Art Area).
   * 11:30 am - Jordan Moses (MCHS grad and former state champion vocalist).
   * Noon - The Owl and the Tuba (Children's Art Area).
   * 12:30 – 1:30 pm – Buck Bradshaw (musician).
   * 1 pm – Are You My Mother? (Children's Art Area).
   * 1:45 pm – van Gough & the Sunflowers (Children's Art Area).
   * 2 pm – The Unknown Blues Band.
   This year's artists will include: Alan Gaskill of Buena Vista – Blacksmithing, Metal Work, Glass, Jewelry (Demonstrations); Allen Gee of Greenville – Pottery and Ceramics; Cathy Fussell of Columbus – Quilts (Demonstrations); Deanie Wells of Buena Vista – Paintings; Fred Fussell of Columbus – Photography; Ginger Bass of Ellaville – Paintings, Drawings, Mixed Media, Woodworking, Repurposed Frames; Helena Meek of Buena Vista – Paintings; Joel and Brenda Pitts of Thomaston – Paintings, Floor Cloths, Hand Hewn Bowls and Spoons; John Ford of Buena Vista – Paintings; Julie Brown of Buena Vista - Paintings and Art Prints from City Collages; Lyndsey Long of Opelika – Paintings and Jewelry; Mary and Barbara Ward of LaGrange -  Bird Feeders; Pasaquan Preservation Society – Authentic Bead Necklaces from Pasaquan; Rani Garner of Buena Vista – Paintings; Rick Garner of Buena Vista – Woodworking; Rocky Wade of Buena Vista – Wood Carvings; Roger Sinyard of Buena Vista -  Woodworking (Demonstrations); The Tazewell Quilters of Tazewell – Quilts (Demonstrations); and Walter Hobbs of Valdosta – Pottery and Ceramics.
