Schley wins another
Region Championship,
heads into playoffs with
No. 1 State Rating

From the April 26, 2017 issue of The Journal
The Schley County High baseball team wrapped up the regular season last Friday by beating Brookstone in the Region Championship game and securing the team's 4th region title in 5 years. The 24-1 Wildcats will enter the state playoffs as the No. 1 seeded team in the state. As such, they have a "bye" in the first round and will host second round action with a double-header on May 4 (and "if" game on May 5). While appeals may still shake up the brackets, as it stands now they would play either Trion or Terrell County.
"It's great to win another region title for these guys," Coach Cheek said. "We graduated a ton of talent last year and a lot of people had some doubts about us. I'm proud of them for the hard work they put in all year. We struggled early, but they've worked hard and earned this."
Schley 15, Crawford 1: On May 4 the Wildcats crushed Crawford County 15-1 in 5 innings.
Chase Patrick and Will Barry each homered ... The rest of the story.
