Chatt BOE gets $1.58 million for electric buses

 The Chattahoochee County School System is one of only 15 in the state selected to receive a total of $51.1 million in federal grants for the purchase of electric school buses, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last week.
  Chattahoochee County will be awarded four electric school buses worth $1.58 million. "Chattco" and nearby Macon County were the only small, rural systems chosen for these grants.
  Dr. Kristie Brooks, Superintendent, said local officials are pleasantly surprised to receive the grant, as they applied for it, but did not really expect to receive it. Therefore, they still need to work out some details, but they are excited about the possibilities.
