Marion officials look for answers on topics of Animal Control and Overbilling of Taxes

 Members of the Marion County Commission discussed the need for animal control, how to best keep their previous promise to refund taxes from 2019, and other issues during their recent monthly meeting.


 Animal Control:
Marion County has a fairly comprehensive animal control ordinance. It includes vaccination requirements, prohibitions on animals running at large, and gives the county authority to pick up animals. It also authorizes fines of $100 for each violation.
  However, that's all just "on paper," as the county actually doesn't have anyone handling animal control.
