Marion Residents Express Frustration Over Recreation

 There were so many concerned citizens at last week's Marion County Commission meeting that some had to sit on the floor while others stood along the wall. They turned out in such a large number to voice their concerns about the Recreation Department.
  \f2The Journal \f1 reported two weeks ago that the Commission had voted to make the recreation director position part-time, which prompted the resignation of longtime Recreation Board member and volunteer Jan Whitley. The information had come from a news release from the county.
