Marion residents hit with Boil Water Alert

 As the Marion County Commission prepares to hire an engineer to perform a “hydraulic modeling study” of the water system, some customers have been told that they should boil their water before using it for drinking or cooking.
 As previously reported, many customers in the northern portion of the county went days, in some cases weeks, without water after a water main leak that drained the northern water tanks. Even after the tanks were refilled, air trapped in the lines caused serious issues and it took a long time to correct.
 Now, County Manager Will Johnson says the water system is back up to its “pre-blown main” service level, but unfortunately some customers whose homes are in higher elevations have water pressure low enough to require the recommendation to boil water....
