Marion Officials Vow to Keep Working to Improve the Local Water System

 The Marion County Commission vowed to keep working to improve the water system and outlined some of the plans to do so during its recent monthly meeting.
 As previously reported, many water customers were recently hit with the very tough situation of being without water service for two (and in some cases three) weeks after a water line broke and the water tanks in the northern section of the system were drained before the leak could be located and repaired.
 In addition to taking a good while to refill the water tanks, there was an issue with air trapped in the lines. That proved to be more difficult to solve than anticipated, with the county calling in help from the outside, including Columbus Water Works and the Georgia Rural Water Authority.
